Personal dictionaries are similar to user dictionaries. They allow you to register proper nouns and technical terms to be reflected in translation results, as dictionary data. Dictionary data can be registered for nouns only.
User dictionaries contain dictionary data used within an organization, and are therefore useful in ensuring that the same terms are translated the same way by multiple users. In contrast, personal dictionaries are used by individual users to create dictionary data, and are therefore useful when translating terms not defined by an organization or terms that a particular individual often uses.
This function makes it easier to register and manage frequently used terms and terms that must be used in translations, in a way that is easier than the traditional user dictionary function.
Personal dictionaries can be used if they have been "enabled" by an administrator user.
If "disabled," the personal dictionary function will not be accessible, and only the "user dictionary" function can be used.

<Dictionary matching order>
The matching precedence for provided user dictionaries is determined as follows.
The precedence for content registered in personal dictionaries is also as follows.
- First appearance in sentence
- Most characters
It is possible to register the same term with different translations in a user dictionary and personal dictionary. If the user dictionary and personal dictionary are used at the same time, the personal dictionary will generally take precedence.
However, the user dictionary will take precedence over a personal dictionary in the following cases.
- The character string recorded in the user dictionary appears before the character string stored in the personal dictionary
- The number of characters in the character string registered in the user dictionary is greater than the number of characters in the character string registered in the personal dictionary
If there is a user dictionary used by your entire organization or department, or if there is specified user dictionary, first confirm whether the term registered in the personal dictionary has been registered in the user dictionary prior to use.
Also, if a term registered in the personal dictionary is included as part of a sentence in the translation memory, the translation memory will take precedence.
